Juan Capistrán
Juan Capistrán (Guadalajara, 1976) trabaja con escultura, video, pintura, fotografía, dibujo, instalación, performance y sonido. Artista mexicano, crecido en una colonia predominantemente afroamericana en Los Angeles, Capistrán maniobra hábilmente temas que van desde movimientos políticos y sociales, la música punk, el arte minimal de los años sesenta, pasando por la cultura hip-hop y el anarquismo, mezclando medios, referencias y técnicas en críticas subversivas a la cultura americana.
Su obra ha sido mostrada en varias exposiciones individuales y colectivas en lugares como MOCA Detroit; The Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; ASU Art Museum, Phoenix; la Bienal de Istanbul; The Bronx Museum of the Arts, Nueva York and Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Además, su obra se encuentra en las siguientes colecciones públicas: Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; The New Museum, Nueva York and Kadist Foundation, San Francisco.
